Copper Jewelry and Care
Copper jewelry will tarnish from continuous exposure to air and moisture. When not wearing, keep your copper in an airtight container or plastic bag. You can use a polishing cloth to maintain your copper and to help remove tarnish. You can also coat your copper with nail polish to protect it from discoloration.
Sometimes copper can discolor the skin. After prolonged contact with the skin, it can interact with lotion, soap and sweat from your everyday routine and can turn the skin green. The reaction varies with each person depending on their chemistry and some people will never experience discoloration. It is not harmful to anyones health and can be washed off easily with soap and water, or will fade on its own. If this bothers you, you can solve the problem by making sure you wash the piece with soap and water, make sure it is completely dry and then coat it with clear nail polish.
